Wednesday Night Social Sails on the Potomac
The sails fill, the sun drifts low over the Potomac, and the workday fades behind you. Wednesday evenings are made for sailing — and there's no better way to spend them than with fellow PSC members during our Wednesday Night Social Sails.
What to Expect
Departure
Boats start departing around 5:30 PM, or as soon as each skipper's crew is aboard. All boats return to their slips before sunset.
Who It's For
Whether you're new to sailing or a seasoned hand, these relaxed evening sails are perfect for practicing skills, sharing knowledge, and enjoying the river in good company. Bring a friend!
Cost
Crew: $10 per person | Skippers: FREE
Monthly Bonus
On the last Wednesday of each month, our sails end with a Social Hour at the marina featuring free club-provided refreshments — a great way to swap stories and meet more members.

PSC is always looking for qualified members to serve as skippers for our Wednesday night sails.

Qualification Requirements
- ASA 101/103 completion
- At least three Potomac sails within two years of completing 101/103
- A Boater Safety Card
- One Potomac sail per season prior to skippering
All potential skippers complete a check ride with a club-approved skipper and demonstrate the skills listed in the Social Sail Skipper Checklist.
