The Pentagon Sailing Club (PSC) makes every effort to keep the cost of bay sails at affordable rates. Weekend charter fees for boats in the 33 to 45 foot range run between $3,000 and $4,000 depending on the size and age of the boat. Charter fees must be paid in full 30 days in advance of the scheduled sail date and are not refundable except in extraordinary circumstances. In order to keep bay sail participant cost shares low, the following cancellation will be strictly enforced.

If a member must cancel his/her participation on a bay sail:

1. The fee will be refunded in full if a written request for cancellation is received by the Bay Commodore and Treasurer more than 30 days before the scheduled start date of the sail.
2. The fee will not be refunded if cancellation occurs within 30 days of the start date of the sail, unless the participant finds a replacement. The club will assist with this, but will not be responsible for finding a replacement.

If PSC must cancel a sail, every attempt will be made to reschedule the sail at a future date mutually agreeable to all crew members or reassign the participant to an opening on another scheduled sail. If PSC is unable to reschedule the cancelled sail or reassign the participant to another sail on an alternate date the fee will be refunded in full.
