WOMEN on WATER (WOW) - REGISTER NOW for the 2026 Sailing Season (06 Feb 2026)

WOMEN ON WATER (WOW), a Pentagon Sailing Club (PSC) group, provides opportunities for women to sail in a fun, supportive, and learning environment!

From April through October, WOW meets on select Thursdays (5:30 pm until dusk) and Saturdays (starting at 9:00 am) and occasional Fridays and Sundays at the Capital Cove Marina on Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling (JBAB) in Washington, D.C., where PSC moors a fleet of Catalina Capri 22s. After each sail, WOW members gather at the marina's waterfront restaurant, The Slip Inn.

Who: All PSC women are welcome to join!

When: April through October 2026

Where: Capital Cove Marina, Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling (JBAB), 90 Giovannoli Way, Washington, D.C. 20032

Cost: $60 covers the cost of the 2026 sailing season

Note, you must be a PSC member to register for WoW. If you DO NOT have access to JBAB, after completing a PSC membership application, you may apply for DBIDS card. This takes time to process. Without a DBIDS card, you don't have access to the marina. Note: PSC can only sponsor DBIDS cards for active club members.

Come join us for our first ever Sunday Evening Social Sail !!!

Here's your chance to take a little time after work (or maybe even leave the office early if you can) and join some of your fellow PSC members for an evening social sail on the Potomac.

Boats depart the docks by 4:30 PM at the latest (or earlier if a skipper has a boat full of people). All boats must be tied back up in their slips before sunset.

Come out and join us and practice your sailing. You might pick up a tip or be able to share your tips with each other in this relaxed atmosphere. Oh, did we mention that it's only $10 to participate (& free for Skippers)? How much better can it get?!

NOTE TO ALL: Capacity is totally dependent on how many Skippers sign up. No skipper, no boat. If you are considering being a Skipper (see requirements below), but need some orientation and/or a bit more practice, let us know. We'll figure something out.

To be a Skipper on a Social Sail, a member must be pre-approved in accordance with the PSC Training and Qualifications Policy. 2026 Mount Vernon Flotilla (16 May 2026)

2026 Mount Vernon Flotilla

PSC will sail our fleet of Capri 22's from Capital Cove Marina at Bolling AFB to Mount Vernon. We'll cast off at 8:30 am and expect to arrive at Mount Vernon Wharf around 11:30. Plan to spend about three hours ashore for lunch and sightseeing, and depart at 2:30. Our expected arrival time at Capital Cove is 5:30.

Everyone sailing needs to have a Mount Vernon entry ticket, so a group tour of the mansion has been arranged for 12:40 and there will be time for self guided exploration of the grounds.

The six hours of sailing time will offer a great opportunity to meet other PSC members and gain sailing and navigation experience in unfamiliar waters.

The cost of this event, is $35 or $10 with one FVSM. Since space is limited, this event is limited to members only.

PSC Monthly Membership Social - RAGTIME Restaurant (19 May 2026)

PSC members;

Monthly Membership social meetings are generally held the third Monday of every month (3rd Tuesday, when conflicts or Monday is a holiday), except in Summer months and December when the annual Holiday Party & Awards Dinner takes place.

We normally have dinner together, hear from a guest speaker, and then conduct a business meeting. All year long, it's a good time!

We'll be at a new venue called RAGTIME (sister site to the Rhodeside Grill which is closed) 1345 N. Courthouse Road, Arlington, VA) this month!

Happy Hour and networking starts at 6:00 pm and meeting starts at 7:00 pm with a short ice-breaker. We recommend that you come early to have some food (individual tab), birthday cake for our recent birthdays, and and hang around with other sailors.

Main attraction for this month is John Traettino speaking of his many overseas sailing adventures! Come and be amazed and learn something new.

This is a multi-day social sail over the Memorial Day weekend. We depart the marina on Saturday and meet other boats on the bay, raft-up, and spend the day on the water. See flyer attached below.

25 May 2025 - In port catered dinner

This is a great multi-day experience, where you get to experience the liveaboard style, plus you get to raft-up with other boats. The sail is a great time to practice any skills you may need for a certification, or just to make sure you keep them sharp. If all you want is relax, there will be multiple fore-decks where you can do so.

Monday we return to our home ports.

We look forward to seeing you. Please pass the information about the Raft Up to anyone who wants to attend and let the skipper know if you have any questions.

Registration price only covers charter costs. Additional costs such as food, pump-out, fuel, and slip fees will be shared by the crew.

The charter boat is a catamaran with three 2-person cabins and three singles in salon (sleeping nine). You can check it out here.

The fee will not be refunded if cancellation occurs within 30 days of the start date of the sail, unless the participant finds a replacement. The club will assist with this but will not be responsible for finding a replacement.

The first night we anchor and then reconnect with the other boats. On the second night (Sunday), we dock in a marina (Oxford Safe Harbor) and have dinner at local restaurant (Capsize OXMD).

Monday we return to our home ports.

Registration price only covers charter costs. Additional costs such as food, pump-out, fuel, and slip fees will be shared by the crew.

2026 MDRU Dinner (24 May 2026)

Our MDRU Dinner will be a catered BBQ at Safe Harbor Marina Oxford. We will meet under the tent at the marina for socializing, food and fun! After dinner prizes will be awarded for best decorated boat, costumes, food and drink from the 5/23 raft-up the night before. This dinner event is a great way to enjoy our weekend together at our final dinner ashore in Oxford.

Also invited to the MDRU dinner are PSC members who are not sailing, please come to the dinner as we would love to have you join us for this fun social event!

We ask that each person register ASAP and no later than two weeks prior to the event so we can plan to have enough food for all to enjoy.

Date and Time: Sunday, May 24th, 5:00 - 8:00 pm

Location: Safe Harbor Marina (under the tent), 402 Strand, Oxford, MD 21654

Catered Food: BBQ (Pit Beef, NC Pulled Pork, BBQ Chicken), sides (garden salad, collard greens, backed beans, mac&cheese, coleslaw, potato salad) and corn bread.

NOTE: We are always looking for Skippers!
To be a Skipper on a Social Sail, a member must be pre-approved in accordance with the PSC Training and Qualifications Policy. Generally that requires: completing ASA 101/103, three sails on the Potomac within the past two years subsequent to 101/103, a Boater Safety Card, and having sailed once on the Potomac each season prior to Skippering.

Hydrilla Cup (31 Oct 2026)

The Hydrilla Cup is a PSC social event hosted by the Racing Squadron. Join us for a day of races, fellowship, and a cookout!

The main event will be a series of two to three races on the Potomac River in which teams of PSC members compete against each other to claim victory on one of our Capri 22's. We'll follow the racing with a cookout at the marina.

This is also a great opportunity to try out for PSC's 2027 racing team.

This event is free, but registration is required since there's limited space on the boats. If you'd like to share a dish for the cookout, please send a note to racing@pentagonsailing.org. If you'd like to attend the cookout but not sail, there's unlimited space to attend.

Note: This event is held on Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling; you must have an ID card (or a DIBDS card) that allows access to the base to participate.
